Consultation and legalizing work

We can provide consultation services if you have done illegal work to your property such as reno’s, awnings, extended sundeck removed green area. If you have been given a stop order, we can give you insight to see if what is done can be legalized. If it can, we can be hired to legalize the work you have done.  

If the illegal work has been rejected by the city, we can take it to the board of variance for you as well. There is a chance it can be rejected but can also be accepted. Once accepted by the board, we can reapply to legalize the work. 

A few recent cases we’ve dealt with for our clients have been illegal sundeck extensions. With the city rejecting the applications to legalize it first. We went to the board of variance and got them accepted. Reapplied to the city and have become legal.  

We also had one case where a client had done illegal reno’s to their home but kept the same footprint. They renovated the upper 2 floors and made the basement into 2 suites. They were issued a stop work order and comply within a certain time frame. After they contacted us, we looked at what was done. Spoke to our qualified team and designers. Got what we needed to submit an application. We submitted the application, got it approved, and helped with finishing the renovations and inspections. Got final inspection complete and received the occupancy permit.
